A car hit three children who were going to Biscayne Gardens Elementary School, located at 560 Northwest 151st Street, in the city of Miami.
According to information provided by the local press, the unfortunate event occurred on Thursday morning.
It turned out that the accident occurred near the entrance to the educational center, before the school speed limit began.
The three minors, who are grandchildren of a woman who witnessed the incident, were immediately taken to the hospital to be treated urgently by the doctors on duty.
One of them, 12 years old, suffered serious injuries to the brain and lung, and had to undergo surgery.
The moment was so desperate that the grandmother herself declared to Miami authorities that the little boy “flew away” due to the impact, and was taken by helicopter to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Police said the woman driving the vehicle that hit the children stayed at the scene after the incident.
In fact, his car had damage to the front, as a result of the collision with the minors. Detectives arrived at the scene around 7:30 a.m. after receiving an alert.

By then, the woman had not been arrested or criminally charged.
The Miami police let the community know that the case is currently under investigation, and they asked people to immediately contact the respective authorities if they have any additional information.
It is expected that, in the next few hours, more information will emerge about both the seriously injured child and the rest of those involved.
