Chile – Chile marked this Monday, September 11, the 50th anniversary of the coup d’état by General Augusto Pinochet that overthrew the socialist Salvador Allende. According to the AFP agency, 3,200 people were murdered or disappeared during the Pinochet regime.

Clashes had taken place this Sunday, the 10th, during a march in memory of the victims of Augusto Pinochet’s dictatorship.
A march in which, in an unprecedented way, the current station chief, Gabriel Boric, participates.
The presidential palace was even stoned and some mausoleums of victims of the Pinochet regime were attacked.
3 people were arrested and many other police officers were injured.
Pinochet’s regime is highly criticized by one part of society, but another continues to praise the economic gains or security obtained during the regime that lasted until 1990.
Jorge Prado is a Chilean musician. He says he is convinced that the radical right could soon return to power and that the drafting of a new constitution, currently underway, could be even more conservative than the current one, a legacy of the Pinochet years.
