The Chilean newspaper, which devoted two pages in its Tuesday edition to the achievements made by Morocco over the last 25 years on the occasion of the Throne Day, notes that the Sovereign “has focused his efforts on the economic development of Morocco, encouraging national and foreign investments and promoting growth to generate jobs.”

He noted that “the country has seen a significant expansion in the tourism, manufacturing and infrastructure sectors,” recalling in this context the Green Morocco Plan, which is “an initiative aimed at modernizing the agricultural sector and boosting food production.”

For “La Tercera”, “this strategy has allowed Morocco to become a major player on the global agricultural scene”.

The Chilean newspaper then reviewed the reforms initiated by the Sovereign, mentioning in particular the creation of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER) in 2004, the launch of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) in 2005, the recognition of the Amazigh language as an official language, the new development model and the renewable energy projects.

La Tercera also focuses on the new revision of the Moudawana, Morocco’s African policy, the water highway project and the Moroccan strategy to encourage biodiversity.

Regarding relations between Morocco and Chile, “La Tercera” recalls that the two countries commemorated, three years ago, the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, stressing that Morocco hosts an office of ProChile, the official economic promotion agency of Chile, which is one of the large offices in the region.

Cooperation between Morocco and Chile also includes the exchange of experiences and good practices in promoting women’s rights and strengthening women’s participation in political, economic and social life, through training and awareness-raising programs.

The Chilean newspaper finally recalls the bilateral cooperation agreements in the cultural and academic fields which, despite the geographical distance, allow the Moroccan and Chilean peoples to come closer together.
