El Cacique defeated the southern team 1-0 with a goal from Cristián Zavala. From Salmón de Chile -organizers of the match-, they highlighted the great reception from the public and the level of both teams in the friendly.
More than 8,000 people came to the Chinquihue Stadium to enjoy the Chilean Salmon Cup, in a match between Colo Colo and Deportes Puerto Montt. Fans filled the stands to watch the team led by Arturo Vidal, who were welcomed at El Tepual airport by hundreds of fans.
From the beginning, the fans enjoyed a match that was initially dominated by Deportes Puerto Montt, who presented their best team to face Cacique. But it was in the 38th minute when the scoring would open, with a pass from Alexander Oroz to Cristián Zavala, who scored the only goal of the match.
Colo Colo finished the match with its starters on the pitch, holding on to a 1-0 lead to finally take home the Chilean Salmon Cup, which was presented at the end of the match by representatives of the salmon farming companies to the captain, Esteban Pávez.
