Casa Cecilia: Santiago’s Unique Blend of Hotel, Cafe, and Culinary Destination

SANTIAGO, Chile, December 26, 2024 – forget choosing between a chic boutique hotel, a trendy cafe, or a restaurant with a killer menu. In Santiago’s Las Condes neighborhood, a single, elegantly restored house offers all three-and more-under one roof. Casa Cecilia, which opened its doors in 2024,is quickly becoming the city’s go-to destination for everything from high-powered business meetings to intimate celebrations.

The unique space is the brainchild of entrepreneurs Joaquín barbera and Alejandro Malgor, alongside Chilean Senator Felipe Kast. They envisioned a destination that seamlessly blends luxury, refined taste, and a relaxed, contemporary vibe.

“Felipe told me the idea of opening a small hotel in an old house near his house. That was the kick-off and the perfect excuse to spend more time together,” says Malgor, recalling the project’s origins with Kast, forged during their time in a World Economic Forum network of global leaders.

A Tribute in Design

The name “Casa Cecilia” isn’t arbitrary. It honors a woman who faced immense hardship-widowed at 32 with five children-but persevered with grace and strength. Barbera’s grandmother, Cecilia, embodies the spirit of resilience and warmth that the partners hope to instill in every guest who walks through the door.

“We not onyl receive guests, but we create unique moments for those who seek the remarkable,” the partners explain.

Gastronomy Takes Center Stage

Bistró Cecilia, helmed by renowned chef and influencer Lorena Salinas, is rapidly gaining recognition as a must-visit culinary destination in Santiago. The bistro’s menu emphasizes high-quality ingredients and offers a unique dining experience in an intimate, elegant setting.

The menu aims to evoke the comforting flavors of home cooking while surprising diners with innovative and even exotic dishes. Each plate is as visually appealing as it is appetizing-a potential magazine cover in its own right, according to one satisfied customer. “It is one of the trendy places in Santiago de Chile today. If you want a vibrant place, with delicious food, good vibes and even incredible cocktails and mocktails, you have to come here,” they said.
