The actions of the North Atlantic Alliance, planning to advance into Asia, pose a threat to the stability of the world and the region.

As reported by Day.Az with reference to TASS, this was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Lin Jian.

“NATO’s so-called security is ensured at the expense of other countries’ security, and the alliance’s actions pose extremely high risks to global and regional security,” Lin Jian said. “As a relic of the Cold War and the world’s largest military bloc, NATO claims to be a regional defense organization, but at the same time it constantly oversteps its boundaries and expands its powers, provoking confrontation <...>“, he added.

Lin Jian pointed out that China firmly opposes NATO’s accusations against China, as well as “opposes the alliance using China as a pretext to move eastward into the Asia-Pacific region and escalate the situation there.” Beijing calls on NATO to abandon the Cold War mentality, the zero-sum game, and “stop creating imaginary enemies everywhere.”
