(ANSA) – BEIJING, AUGUST 19 – The Chinese coast guard has accused a Philippine vessel, which had ignored repeated warnings, of “deliberately colliding” with one of its vessels in an “unprofessional and dangerous” manner. The same vessel, according to a statement, then entered waters near the disputed Second Thomas Shoal after being prevented from entering the waters of Sabina Shoal. In total, two Philippine coast guard vessels “illegally entered near Sabina Shoal today without permission,” Chinese coast guard spokesman Gan Yu said, reflecting the latest tensions between the parties in the disputed waters.
