The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation outlined the development direction of the future China-Africa partnership on the road of modernization. On September 6, 2024, the 8th meeting of Chinese and African entrepreneurs took place in Beijing as part of the forum, attended by representatives of companies from 48 African countries. These companies are engaged in multiple sectors such as mining, infrastructure, electronic technology, communications and biopharmaceuticals. This is reported by Radio China.
During the event’s opening ceremony, Chinese Premier Li Qiang stressed the need to strengthen market linkages between the two countries, promote industrial integration and boost innovation. The entrepreneurs discussed new directions for cooperation, seeking mutual benefit.
Cooperation between China and Africa is based on the complementarity of their industrial chains. China, as a major developing country with the world’s most comprehensive industrial chain, can provide technological assistance to Africa, which in turn has the potential to integrate its products into the Chinese supply chain.
New economic drivers provide both countries with new opportunities for cooperation. In recent years, China and Africa have strengthened partnership in the field of new energy sources and green development. African entrepreneurs emphasized that China’s experience in the field of sustainable energy and electric vehicles is extremely important for their development.
The meeting announced measures for further cooperation, including the joint construction of a China-Africa Digital Technology Cooperation Center, deepening of online trade, and the implementation of 30 clean energy projects in Africa. All these initiatives will contribute to the joint cultivation of new engines of development.
