The plans of the American authorities to ban the TikTok application, the developer of which is a subsidiary of the Chinese company ByteDance, could undermine the confidence of foreign investors in the United States.

As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Wang Wenbin stated this at a briefing.

“This kind of aggressive behavior caused by failure to win fair competition disrupts the normal business activities of enterprises, undermines international investors’ confidence in the investment environment, and destroys the normal international economic and trade order,” Wang Wenbin said.

According to him, the actions of the American authorities will ultimately hit the United States itself.

Earlier, American President Joe Biden announced that he would sign a bill providing for the possibility of introducing a ban on the social network TikTok in the country if this document is approved by the US Congress. This bill, being developed on Capitol Hill, aims to sever ties between TikTok and any “Chinese-controlled entity,” including ByteDance. The latter is currently the owner of the social network. The authors of the bill give the company six months to sell the social network. If this is not done, then it is expected that a ban will be imposed on the distribution of TikTok in the United States, including the placement of the corresponding application on network platforms.
