The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh and the Red Cross Society of China have donated 100,000 US dollars to the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society to help flood victims.

On Monday (August 26) morning, China’s ambassador to Dhaka, Yao Wen, chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Professor Dr. M. U. Kabir handed over the donation check to Chowdhury.

Expressing gratitude to China Red Cross and Embassy, ​​Kabir Chowdhury said that the south-eastern region of Bangladesh is affected by severe floods today, breaking all past records. Millions of people in flood-affected areas are living inhumane conditions.

He also said that the Red Crescent volunteer team has been helping the affected people by conducting field-level rescue operations, providing mobile medical services, distributing dry food, cooked food and clean drinking water. The donation from the Chinese Embassy and the Red Cross Society will support relief and recovery efforts in the affected areas of the country.

Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen expressed his deep condolences to the flood victims and their families, the injured and the victims, saying, “We are shocked to see the massive loss of life and property damage in the terrible flood in Bangladesh.
