China is expanding its strategic presence in Antarctica

According to international law, China, like many other nations, is allowed to have a presence in Antarctica. South Korea, for example, has also settled not far from China’s Great Wall Station. Around the King Sejong station there are one Polish and several Argentinian stations. King George Island, home to Great Wall Station and King Sejong Station, is the closest part of Antarctica to mainland Argentina.
