London: Rishi Sunak will take strict action against China if he becomes British Prime Minister. He described Asia’s superpower China as the ‘number one threat’ to domestic and global security. Rishi Chena’s open stand on Sunday came after it emerged that the final battle for the post of British Prime Minister was between Rishi Sunak, who is also of Indian origin, and Foreign Minister Liz Truss.
China’s state media Global Times described Rishi Sunak as the only candidate with a clear and practical vision for developing UK-China relations. But it was weaponized by the Daily Mail, which ran for Boris Johnson’s successor and Rishi’s opponent, Truss. The criticism was ‘recognition that no one wants’. He also proposed that all 30 Confucius Institutes in Britain be closed, and that Chinese influence through culture and language programs should be curbed by the spread of soft power.
Conservative Party members will vote on Liz Trasso and Rishi Sunako to become the next Prime Minister. The next British Prime Minister will be announced on September 5. Rishi Sunak won 137 votes in a poll among MPs today to decide the final round of candidates. 113 MPs supported Liz Truss.

Former minister Penny Modent was voted out with the support of only 105 MPs. If Rishi Sunak wins, he will become the first Indian-origin British Prime Minister. Rishi belongs to a family that migrated from Punjab to Africa before independence.
Rishi Sunak is the finance minister who resigned in disagreement with Boris Johnson. Infosys founder N.R. Rishi Sunakint’s wife is Narayanamurthy’s daughter Akshata. Rishi Sunak is facing fierce opposition from Johnson supporters as Rishi Sunak is the one who initiated the series of resignations that ousted Boris Johnson from power. Rishi Sunak is also one of the richest people in Britain. Rishi Sunak will become the sixth Indian-origin to hold the highest office of a country outside India if he becomes British Prime Minister.
