Jabalpur: Police have arrested three accused of smuggling illegal Chinese knives in the city. Police have recovered more than a dozen Chinese knives from them. In this action taken by Hanumanthtal police, accused Arbaaz Khan, Sohrab and Shahbaz have been arrested. Police is trying to gather more information from the arrested accused.

Bought a knife from Pushkar fair

Hanumantal police said that the three accused used to buy buttoned Chinese knives from Pushkar fair in Rajasthan at the rate of Rs 250 per piece. They used to sell these knives in Jabalpur for Rs 500 to Rs 1000. Police had received information from an informer that a large number of Chinese knives were being brought into the city.

A dozen knives were recovered

Based on the information received, police have seized 06 buttoned China knives from accused Arbaaz, 05 from Sohrab and 04 from Shahbaz. Police have registered a case against the accused under Arms Act and taken them on judicial remand. Police is interrogating the three accused to whom these three accused have sold the China knives.

Cases of molestation and rape also came to the fore

On Thursday, separate cases of molestation and rape were registered in three police station areas of the district. In Belbag police station area, a teenager beat up and misbehaved with a minor in school. In Madan Mahal, a rogue molested a minor in public. In Belkheda, a relative raped a woman. Police have registered FIRs in all the cases and investigation is underway.
