2- Eco friendly ambulance
Maldives’ media portal edition.mv reported in its report on Monday that China has gifted 12 eco-friendly ambulances to Maldives. The Maldives’ Ministry of Health was quoted as saying that “these ambulances will contribute to establishing faster response times to emergencies in the islands.”
3- Garbage collection vehicles
China recently donated 10 civilian vehicles to Maldives. These vehicles have been provided by Shandong province of China. According to media reports, these vehicles have been designed for garbage collection and municipal work. “I believe that these vehicles will be of great help in garbage collection and other public works in various cities and will make the Maldives more beautiful,” the Chinese ambassador to Maldives wrote on Twitter.

4- Agreement regarding environmental protection
The Government of Maldives has signed an agreement with Chinese company China Tianying Inc. (CNTI) to cooperate on environmental protection efforts. The agreement will reportedly focus on areas such as climate change, water and sanitation, energy, environmental protection and low-carbon urban development. According to Maldivian media reports, CNTY also plans to contribute to socio-economic development by leveraging the Maldives’ industrial and technological capabilities.
5- China sent 1500 tons of drinking water
Maldivian media reported that China donated 1500 tons of drinking water amid the clean water crisis in Maldives. News agency PTI said in its report that the water that China donated to Maldives was brought from the glacier of Tibet.
6- Big projects to Chinese company
On March 27 itself, a report came out that Maldives Housing Development Corporation entered into an agreement with China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC). Under this, CMEC has got contracts for major projects in Hulhumale Island. In this way, CMEC will build water pipelines, road networks, sewerage and power supply networks. Earlier during Muizzu’s visit to China, CMEC had also received contracts for setting up eco-city project, municipal services at Rasmale and Gulhi Falhu.

7- China provided lab equipment to 17 islands
An agreement has been signed between the Health Ministry of Maldives and the Government of China, under which equipment will be provided for laboratories on 17 islands of Maldives. Under this agreement, laboratory equipment will be purchased for 72 islands across the country within the next 5 years.

Muizzu has said that China has promised that it will build the roads of Male and this will be a gift from him. According to the Maldives Republic report quoting Muizzu, China has agreed to build the roads of Male for free. Earlier in February, Muizzu had promised to build the city’s roads. He had said, the work of improving roads in Male city will start this year. A large part of its expenses will be covered with assistance from China.
