During a meeting with Yván Gil, Venezuelan counterpart, which took place in New York, Wang assured that both nations have a good friendship “and regardless of how international circumstances change,” the Asian giant will maintain its support for the “economic and social development of the country.”
In addition, the Asian foreign minister conveyed greetings from President Xi Jinping and congratulated Nicolás Maduro for his re-election, contrasting with the position of the European Union of not recognizing the legitimacy of the Venezuelan president.
Meanwhile, Gil highlighted that in 2023, the leaders of both countries they elevated their relationships to a ‘foolproof strategic partnership’, and that this year they celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties, marking a “key moment” in their bilateral history.
According to the statements of the Venezuelan minister, the nation considers as “the most reliable partner” to China, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening mutual cooperation.
