Beijing/Taipei: A former Chinese language navy captain shocked the Taiwanese navy on Sunday when he arrived at a pier outdoors the capital Taipei together with his speedboat. The intrusion by a mainland Chinese language man regardless of excessive safety measures amid escalating tensions with China has been strongly criticized by Taiwan’s high politicians. China considers Taiwan a rebellious province that should be reunified with the mainland even when power is required. The fugitive, named Ruan (60), was noticed 11 kilometers off the coast of Tamsui in New Taipei.
In response to the coast guard, the boat collided with one other boat on the pier after coming into the Tamsui River headed in the direction of Taipei metropolis, the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Submit reported on Tuesday. Ruan described himself as a former Chinese language navy captain and stated he had left Ningde Port in China’s coastal metropolis of Fuzhou a day earlier.
