China is moving towards nuclear power. Beijing has authorized the construction of 11 new reactors, a record for the country. An investment is estimated at least $31 billion, for the reactors which will all be manufactured by Chinese companies. China, whose electricity production still depends on coal, is seeking to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.
