The central government does not want China’s entry in the Indian telecom sector. This is the reason why the help of Chinese companies has not been taken in 5G network rollout, but the government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited i.e. BSNL is seeking China’s help in 4G network rollout.
Expected to help in 4G rollout
According to ET’s report, BSNL has sought help from Nokia and China’s ZTE. Let us tell you that both these companies are seeking help from BSNL in 2G and 3G network rollout. BSNL wants to take this partnership forward. BSNL is rolling out its 2G and 3G networks locally and is looking for partnership in 4G network rollout.
5G rollout
If we talk about 5G network rollout, indigenous technology and hardware has been used in it. There is also information about taking technical help from some American and British companies. However, China has been kept away from this.
Indigenous trial was successful
Let us tell you that the central brain of BSNL 4G network is indigenous, which has been developed by the Center for Development of Telematics i.e. C-DoT. The radio equipment has been supplied by Tata Group company Tejas, while the system integration is being done by Tata Consultancy Services i.e. TCS. C-DoT has already conducted successful trials of indigenous 4G core. It has been tested on BSNL’s commercial network in Chandigarh and Ambala. Its regular core network may be ready by May and June 2024.
