China’s Law Enforcement Agencies To Tighten Fight Against Food & Drug Safety Crimes

According to the PRC Ministry of Public Security, in 2012, the ministry is ready to organize three major campaigns: a campaign to combat the production and trade of clenbuterol and “soap oil” – a vegetable oil that is extracted from kitchen waste and food leftovers, and then sold again at low prices for restaurants and taverns for reuse in the cooking process, a campaign against the sale of pigs that have died of disease, and a campaign against the manufacture and sale of counterfeit drugs to ensure the safety of food and drugs for the public.
