A massive 26-story apartment building has been constructed near the city of Ezhou in Guangxi Province, China, and houses the world’s largest pig farm.
6 lakh 50 thousand pigs are reared at the same time. 30,000 automatic feeding centers have been set up. To maintain the health of the pigs, the building is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to keep the heat level constant and purify the air.
10 lakh pigs are slaughtered by electric equipment every year and the facilities for taking pork meat have been established in it.
Biogas is planned to be produced from pig waste.
But experts in the field warn that mega-farms created in such apartment buildings are prone to spread of diseases.
