Alimihan, China’s oldest man, died of a heart attack yesterday. He is 135 years old.
Alimihan was born on June 25, 1886, in Kashgar, southwest Xinjiang, China. In 2013, the Chinese government officially declared Alimihan the oldest person in China.
Alimihan, who lived a simple life until his death, could eat right on time. He said in an interview that frequent sun exposure was the main reason for his health.
The area where he lived is considered to be the oldest living area. Many people over the age of 90 have been living here. The main reason for this is said to be the better provision of health services.
Free medical care for the people of the area, including an annual physical examination and a monthly stipend for those over 60 years of age.
