(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 5 – The expansion of China’s services economy accelerated in the second half of 2024. The increase was supported by faster inflows of new businesses, while exports also continued to rise. Thanks to greater efficiency, aided by greater workforce capacity, service providers increased their turnover. The seasonally adjusted Caixin China General Services Index recorded 52.1 in July, up from 51.2 in June. This extended the period of expansion that began in January 2023, although at a pace that remained below the average year-to-date. The latest increase in services activity was driven by the faster speed of new business. New incoming orders increased at a strong pace in July, supported by sustained improvements in underlying demand and a broadening of services supply. (ANSA).
