Two US aircraft carriers have been stationed in the South China Sea to defend Taiwan from China. Last week, a Chinese J-11 fighter jet flew too close to an American RC-135 surveillance plane while American warplanes were on patrol, the US military said. The gap between the two planes was only 20 feet, it said.
