Chinese automaker BAIC agrees on assembly at Avtotor

by time news

The Chinese state automaker BAIC (Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co.) and the Russian Avtotor agree to assemble cars in Kaliningrad. Two sources told Vedomosti about this – a consultant working with the Chinese auto industry in Russia, and a top manager of one of the car factories in the CIS.

One of the interlocutors claims that the parties have reached the point of signing an agreement. The second notes that BAIC is not the only Chinese concern with which Avtotor negotiates the possibility of assembling cars. For example, negotiations are underway with divisions of Chery, the source says.
