Chinese company”TBEA Co., Ltd“can sign a memorandum of understanding with Azerbaijan, Day.Az reported on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan, this became known during the meeting of the Minister of Energy Parviza Shahbazova with TBEA Co., Ltd and PowerChina International Group.

The meeting with Zhang Xin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TBEA, provided information on the company’s activities in manufacturing, engineering services, procurement, construction, energy transmission and distribution, and financing of infrastructure projects, including power plants and renewable energy sources.

The possibilities of cooperation with TBEA in the field of production of equipment for renewable energy, supply of technologies, as well as participation in regional projects to create “green” energy infrastructure were discussed. The possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between the ministry and TBEA is being considered. During the conversation, issues of cooperation within the framework of COP29 were also raised.

At a meeting with Vice President of PowerChina International Group Yang Yisheng, it was noted that the policy of the leaders of the two countries, aimed at raising the level of Azerbaijani-Chinese relations to a strategic partnership, contributes to the development of large-scale cooperation in the field of green energy.

In this context, new prospects for cooperation with PowerChina were discussed within the framework of international activities related to the further development of renewable energy and the creation of green energy corridors.

In addition, satisfaction was expressed with the company’s participation in the project for the construction of a 240 MW wind power plant in Khizi and Absheron, as well as in the auction process for a 100 MW solar power plant project in Gobustan. PowerChina was also invited to cooperate in the field of wind energy production in the Caspian Sea, transmission of this energy, and other areas of renewable energy.
