Kathmandu: Report of Chinese encroachment on the northern border of Nepal. The Ministry of Agriculture of Nepal has found encroachment in about 10 places where Nepal shares its border with China. China has encroached 36 hectares of land here. China has also banned farmers from border villages from entering here. International media reports that the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Government of Nepal has also shared similar concerns.

China has started building canals and roads near the border post in Nepal’s western region of Hamla. In 2016, China’s People’s Liberation Army established a veterinary center for animal welfare in Nepali district. China has been conducting ‘surveillance operations’ in the Lalungsong border area, which is the Chinese border adjacent to Nepal. China has banned Nepali farmers from grazing cattle in the region. It is also forbidden to offer prayers in the places of worship here.

Seven out of the fifteen districts of Nepal that share the border with China have Chinese incursions. The districts of Dolakha, Gorkha, Darchula, Hamla, Sindhupalchok, Shankhuwasa and Rasua are the areas where encroachment is widespread. China had constructed eleven buildings on the land seized during the attack.
