Eleven major high-tech zones in China have established a cooperation network to promote innovation in the artificial intelligence industry, Radio China reports.
The founding conference of the network was held earlier this week in Beijing, and the participating technology zones are “Zhongguancun” in Beijing, and similar ones from Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Hefei, Qingdao, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Xi’an.
Wu Jiaxi, deputy director of the Planning Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, expressed hope that the co-innovation network will create a good ground for artificial intelligence-related innovation in China through an open and inclusive approach. High-tech zones are the main carriers and main centers for the development of artificial intelligence in the country and have become a significant innovative force, he pointed out.
During the conference, the network participants announced an initiative that aims to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence technologies in areas such as chips, algorithms and models. It will also seek to establish a comprehensive innovation and entrepreneurship service system for the entire industrial chain and build mechanisms for the exchange of technology, industry, capital and talent. The initiative promotes the creation of open platforms for artificial intelligence, so as to achieve maximum sharing of achievements in the development of this technology, and will encourage the active participation of high-tech zones in the formulation of international and national standards.
