China’s space station has achieved good results in the field of space medicine that will contribute to future manned landings on the moon and other deep space exploration missions, it was revealed during the Second Forum on Space Medicine, which opened on Saturday in Hangzhou. Radio China reported.

During the two-day forum, experts and scientists will exchange cutting-edge theories and share trends in the development of space medicine.

“Technical support of space medicine is an indispensable part of the application and development stage of China’s space station. It is important for the implementation of a manned mission to land on the moon,” Yang Liwei, deputy chief engineer of China’s manned space program and China’s first taikonaut, said during the opening ceremony.

Space medicine plays an important role in promoting public health. It provides theoretical support and a technical platform for the study of the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, as well as the human aging process.

“We will continue to improve on-orbit defense capabilities and build technical reserves for manned deep space exploration missions,” said Li Yinghui, a researcher at the China Astronaut Research and Training Center.
