Forgery: In the case of the suspicious death of a girl from a private school in Chinnasalem, the National Child Protection Commission Chairman Priyank Kanungo said that there were some flaws in the initial investigation by the police.

A plus-2 student studying at a private school in Chinnasalem, Kallakurichi district, died mysteriously in the school hostel on the 13th. Following this, a riot broke out in the school. The CBCID police are investigating the death of the student.

Meanwhile, on the 23rd, members of the State Child Protection Commission conducted an inquiry in this regard in Chinnasalem. At that time, they had mentioned, ‘The girls in the private school where the incident took place did not get permission for the hostel.’ Meanwhile, a 7-member team led by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Priyang Kanungo conducted an inquiry into the death of a Chinnasalem private schoolgirl yesterday.

The team interrogated the student’s parents in Periyanesalur of Cuddalore district for about an hour yesterday morning. After that they went to the school and conducted research. They also inspected the school hostel building where the incident took place.

Speaking to the media following this, National Child Protection Commission Chairman Priyank Kanungo said, “After meeting the parents of the deceased student and conducting an investigation, we investigated the school and the hostel. We have received the postmortem report of the student. We conducted an inquiry with the police, revenue department, education department officials, doctors and others who conducted the initial investigation in this incident.

We have pointed out that the hostel in the school is operating without permission and lack of basic facilities for the students.

Our preliminary investigation revealed that there were some defects in the investigation regarding the death of the girl student and the negligence of the investigating officers. And we are going to conduct further investigation in the hostel where the student was staying regarding this matter.

We will soon submit a report in this regard to the central and state governments,” he said.
