The Secretary General of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN), Manuel “El Chino” Flores, announced a National Tour called “Meeting with the Bases.”
“We are moving forward, leaving aside personal and group interests. History has given us lessons that we must read every day. Arrogance,haughtiness, pride, exclusion, and lack of discipline have been the main causes of our failures; unity, discipline, empathy, and solidarity have been the main causes of our achievements,” said Manuel Flores.
“El Chino” indicated that the FMLN is a party with a long history and now they are obliged to comply with the statutes, without any space for divisionists and sectarians, and with ethics as their main bulwark. They will walk alongside the base, they will walk alongside the leadership and elected structures.
“The territory and the bases, which are made up of women, veterans, disabled people, young people, professionals, artists, businessmen, merchants, private employees, public employees, trade unionists, teachers, athletes, poets, painters, musicians, etc.; are and will be our spearhead on the path that we have already begun to walk. The time is now!” said the official.
