THIRUVANANTHAPURAM ∙ A mention in the Phd thesis of Youth Commission Chairperson Dr. Chinta Jerome that ‘Vazhakula’ was written by Changampuzha poem ‘Vazhakula’. On the basis of this thesis, Chinta was awarded a doctorate from the University of Kerala.
It is also mentioned in the thesis that the films of Ranjith and Priyadarshan add water to the casteless vision envisioned by the communist government. Ranjith has been appointed as the Chairman of the Film Academy by the second Pinarayi government.
