Press conference commemorating the release of the 20th full-length album on the 22nd
‘King of Singer’ Cho Yong-pil (74) cited himself as the reason why it took so long for his new full-length album to come out.
Cho Yong-pil held a press conference commemorating the release of his 20th studio album ’20’ at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall in Itaewon-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 22nd and revealed the reason why he released a new studio album 11 years after his 19th album ‘Hello’ in 2013.
Cho Yong-pil said, “It’s not that easy to make an album. I’ve made a lot of them, but they have to be to my liking. Even if I make a song, when I listen to it the next day, there’s something that makes me think, ‘Wow.’ There will be hundreds of songs like that.”
He added, “We recorded this album until early October. We completed one more song, but it had a different flavor from the songs in other albums, so we released it later.”
He also said, “The 20th album will be the last album. After that, I think I’ll release two or several songs at a time,” but also said, “But I don’t know, I might go crazy and release the 21st album.”
Cho Yong-pil will release his 20th full-length album ’20’ through various online music sites at 6 PM on this day. ’20’ is an album that will be an important milestone in Cho Yong-pil’s music world, including the title song ‘That’s OK’, ‘Instant’, ‘Timing’, ‘Like Serengeti’, ‘Why’, ‘Feeling of You’, and ‘La’. A total of 7 songs are included. In ’20’, Cho Yong-pil puts his own strong musical stamp on a wide genre spectrum spanning rock, electronica, and ballad, and releases ‘Cho Yong-pil ver. It shows ‘2024’.
The title song ‘That’s Okay’ is a touching cheering song for everyone in this era. The lyrics are impressive, telling people to believe in themselves now and that it’s okay to be a little late. Exciting electric guitar, refreshing singing, and high-resolution sound combine to create Cho Yong-pil’s own modern rock. Lim Seo-hyun, who participated in writing the lyrics, said, “I wanted to tell everyone that if you believe in yourself, it’s okay even if you are a little slower than others and sometimes take a different path.”
Talented actors Park Geun-hyung, Jeon Mi-do, Lee Som, and Byun Yo-han appeared in the music video. The deep acting skills of the actors are added to Cho Yong-pil’s unique powerful voice, which will increase immersion in the music video. In addition, video production company Dolphin Kidnapping Team participated in the production, adding to the level of perfection.
Meanwhile, the CD of Cho Yong-pil’s 20th full-length album ’20’ will be released on November 1.
