Brewers’ Star outfielder Jackson Chourio Faces Additional Recovery Time

Milwaukee Brewers fans will need to wait longer to see their star outfielder, jackson Chourio, back in action. The team announced Tuesday that Chourio will be sidelined for an additional two to four weeks as he continues to recover from a distension in the tendon of his right corva,an injury sustained while running the bases on July 29.

Chourio’s Recovery and Treatment

The 21-year-old outfielder has been receiving treatment to accelerate his healing process, including a platelet rich plasma (PRP) injection. According to Brewers manager Pat Murphy, Chourio is showing positive signs of enhancement wiht the treatment. He has not played since the initial injury nearly a month ago.

Chourio has been a key contributor to the Brewers’ success this season, boasting a .276 batting average with 17 home runs, 67 runs scored, and 18 stolen bases. Milwaukee currently holds the best record in the National League at 68-44 as of Tuesday.

Other Brewers Injury Updates

The injury to Chourio isn’t the only concern for the Brewers’ pitching staff. Rookie pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, who was scratched from his scheduled start on Sunday due to a bruise on his left forearm, participated in a bullpen session Tuesday.Murphy anticipates Misiorowski, a potential All-Star, will return to the mound in mid-August.

Misiorowski has impressed in his debut season, compiling a 4-1 record with an impressive 47 strikeouts in 33.1 innings pitched.

Reliever Shelby Miller, recently acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks, is also working his way back from an injury. He will begin a rehabilitation assignment Tuesday with the Triple-A Nashville Sounds, recovering from a distension in his right flexor.Murphy projects Miller will also be available in mid-August. Miller has a 3-3 record with a 1.98 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, and 10 saves in 37 appearances this season, despite being sidelined as July 5 with an elbow injury. He has recorded 40 strikeouts in 36.1 innings.
