Ankara. CHP Erzincan Deputy Mustafa Sarıgül, at the press conference he held in the Assembly, argued that there were issues that were overlooked in the rapid trial due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, that there were those who were unjustly imprisoned due to judicial errors, and that the sentence received was disproportionate to the crime they committed.

Sarigul, who claims that there are more detainees and convicts in prisons than their capacity, said, „The opportunity for the prisoners of destiny to leave the past behind, reintegrate into social life, continue family life, and turn a clean and new page“ He stated that an amnesty should be made for him.

„Come, let’s not make a distinction between closed and open prisons, let’s not separate them as allowed and unauthorized, let’s open a brand new page in the 100th anniversary of the Republic.“ Sarigul said:

“There has been talk of forgiveness for about 2.5 years. If we leave out more than 80 thousand prisoners of fate in the semi-open prison and exclude those in the closed prison, it will be a problem. We have 2.5 million citizens whose licenses have been obtained only. Many of our shopkeepers could not pay their checks and bills due to the pandemic. Once again, I express that our request for forgiveness is a conscientious request and that our state is merciful. On the 100th anniversary of our Republic, I expect and demand that all political parties, regardless of any political reason, come together and issue a comprehensive amnesty for social peace and brotherhood law. I will follow up on this matter.“

Mustafa Sarıgül stated that the scope of the amnesty could be determined by talking between political parties. (yenivatan.at)
