Australian actor Chris Hemsworth revealed he has a high risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. The discovery came during the filming of the Disney+ series “Limitless with Chris Hemsworth.”

Hemsworth described facing a “crossroads” following the news.

Chris Hemsworth carries genes that increase his Alzheimer’s risk.

The actor learned he has an eight to ten times higher risk than average for the neurodegenerative disease. This is due to carrying two copies of the APOE4 gene.

Research indicates that individuals with this gene combination often exhibit early Alzheimer’s symptoms before age 55.

Hemsworth has denied rumors about stepping away from his acting career.

Addressing Career Rumors

“Until 40 years of age you gather information and react to things, and then you reach a point where you realize that part of the identity you have built up is no longer correct,” Hemsworth told Sky News.

Speculation arose that the “Thor” star might retire. However, he has publicly refuted these claims. He previously told Vanity Fair that the rumors felt like a “death message” and were untrue.

Despite not halting his career, Hemsworth shared with Sky News that the health news prompted him to reevaluate his life. He emphasized a greater focus on unwinding, managing stress, listening to his body, and prioritizing self-care.
