Chinese Christians are facing religious persecution in their homes as well as on the streets. The censorship of communism implemented by the government for decades has even resulted in power and water cuts against those who do domestic worship.

This is what the religious watchdog organization Portas Abertas reports in yet another complaint of intolerance, this time involving a Chinese Christian named Yang Yingle, who lives in the city of Sanhe.

He reported being the victim of a “punishment” with power and water cuts on the 1st of that month, after having the house invaded by police during a domestic service. The practice, which is common among Christians around the world, is being banned in China.

“It was not a technical failure, but a punishment and a warning,” he said, second information from JM News. Communist regime police also confiscated several of the brother in Christ’s books, as well as a computer. Only the last one has been returned so far.

Repression

Ranking 16th on Open Doors’ worldwide religious persecution list, China has been trying to crack down on an increasingly aggressive approach to the spread of Christianity in the country.

For this, the Chinese Communist Party (PCC) has invested against Christian homes, where the practice of domestic worship has been a fundamental instrument of evangelism and worship of God far from the eyes of the regime.

“Tightening restrictions and increased surveillance are putting Christians in China under intense pressure as the Communist Party seeks to limit all threats to power,” Open Doors says in its annual report.

According to the organization, there are several reactions of the regime against the followers of Jesus. “Surveillance in China is among the most oppressive and sophisticated in the world, and Christian leaders are particularly vulnerable to persecution, including arrest or, in a small number of cases, kidnapping,” alert the entity.
