Dr. Lars Peters is bringing holiday cheer to his community of Peine, Germany by organizing a Christmas vaccination campaign to combat flu and coronavirus. The campaign, under the theme of “Vaccinations for a good cause,” aims to not only protect the locals from respiratory infections but also contribute to a charitable cause.
According to Dr. Lars Peters, vaccination fatigue has become a concern, with many individuals feeling weary after undergoing several corona vaccinations. The rising number of respiratory infections in Peiner Land reflects the need for vaccination. Dr. Peters emphasized that vaccinations are vital for safeguarding against severe illnesses, particularly with the upcoming holiday season.
The Standing Vaccination Commission recommends the corona and flu vaccination for individuals aged 60 and over as well as those with chronic illnesses and pregnant women. The recommendation also extends to residents in care facilities, medical and nursing staff, and people in facilities with increased public traffic.
As part of the campaign, each vaccinated individual will receive two Peiner Christmas thalers, a local currency that can be used at the Pein Christmas Town, an annual festive event in Peine. Additionally, the family doctor’s practice will donate two euros to the association “Nobody should be lonely” (KSES) for every vaccination. The goal is not only to incentivize vaccinations but also to support the local community and the efforts of PAZ campaign “Nobody should be lonely.”
The Christmas vaccination campaign will take place every Tuesday and Thursday evening until Christmas, with an additional session on Friday, December 15th at the practice’s location. Those interested in getting vaccinated must register online and bring their health card to the practice.
Through this initiative, Dr. Peters and his team are not only promoting health and well-being but also spreading joy and goodwill during the holiday season in Peine.
