Pedantic racist or a disgust to love: In Sönke Wortmann’s new film, “Contra”, which will be released on October 28th, Christoph Maria Herbst plays a cynic who tries to provoke with racist statements. It’s not the first time that Herbst has played a difficult character and worked out lovable aspects. One of his best-known roles is probably that of the sadistic boss Bernd Stromberg in the comedy series of the same name, which ran on German private television until 2012.
