“Chronic kidney disease absorbs 3% of the Health Fund”

by time news

The chronic kidney disease “it is a pathology that affects 10% of Italians, by doing an in-depth study I learned that it absorbs 3% of the National Health Fund, which I would also like to underline that the Meloni government has implemented. A huge figure to be only a pathology. In my opinion, a 3% that can certainly be reduced with an early diagnosis and timely care of the patient”. So the Undersecretary for Health Marcello Gemmato, speaking today in the Senate at the conference “Challenges and objectives for a new management of chronic kidney disease”.

In healthcare and especially with the Pnrr for Gemmato “there is a need for funding, but at the same time we need to invest in our professionals and new organizational models. From this, which is a scheme and a pact that I would like to see between the professions and politics, we can give our citizens a horizon line and finally be able to give the Italian people a concept of health that is close by”. This is why “a pact between the professions and politics is needed – underlines Gemmato – with constant and continuous dialogue. Not necessarily with the hospital always at the centre, but on the contrary it is necessary to structure the territory in such a way that hospitals are reached only through complexity, while chronicity must be managed by the territory”.

“The Meloni government – Gemmato assures us – will govern this nation for five years. I say this not only on the basis of the polls and the fact that we have won in Lombardy and Lazio and that we are also winning in Friuli Venezia Giulia”. A “political mandate government can ensure stability to the monster country and allow for the development of political reasoning that intertwines with scientific reflections based on data to make decisions that target the health of Italians”, he concludes.
