Running for the 55th Football Association Presidential election, 12 pledges announced
“We will create a Republic of Korea where all people enjoy soccer.”
President Chung Mong-gyu, who is running as a candidate for the 55th Korea Football Association (KFA) president, announced 12 pledges.
On the 26th, Chairman Chung Mong-gyu announced his election pledge in a multipurpose conference room on the second floor of the soccer center located in Sinmun-ro, Seoul, after expressing his determination to “complete the remaining goals and create value beyond soccer.”
At this meeting, Chairman Chung said, “We will promote four major goals: restore trust in KFA by expanding public communication, strengthen international competitiveness, develop the soccer industry, and expand the soccer base.”
Chairman Chung gave examples of plans to restore public communication and trust, such as re-establishing the method of selecting national team coaches and expanding communication with the public.
In order to strengthen international competitiveness, they promised to host the 2031 Asian Cup and the 2035 Women’s World Cup and comply with global standard regulations to revitalize K-League operations.
In addition, he proposed ‘establishing regulations for operating national team image rights’, saying that he would create an environment where players’ rights are respected and respected as the top priority, and he pledged to revive the international committee, establish a European advancement center, and regularly hold overseas scout tryout camps.
In addition, in order to expand the base, holding the women’s soccer FA Cup, strengthening the youth and youth soccer system, and operating a comprehensive soccer field support call center for field leaders were introduced as examples.
Chairman Chung said, “I will definitely keep my promise and create a Republic of Korea where all people can enjoy soccer. I will focus on things I am good at, such as soccer diplomacy and completing the construction of a soccer center. In addition, we will listen to voices on the ground,” he said.
The 12 promises made by Chairman Chung are:

Meanwhile, Chairman Chung completed his candidate registration on the 25th after declaring his candidacy on December 19th. The election is scheduled for January 8th next year.
