Chungju City is pushing ahead with a project to support the revitalization of local specialty liquor. In order to develop new products using local agricultural specialties and promote consumption of agricultural products, Chungju City will invest a total project cost of KRW 1.2 billion, including KRW 500 million in government funds, over two years from 2024 to promote a support project to revitalize local specialty liquor in earnest.

The center was selected first in the 2023 Special Resources Convergence Technology Support Contest hosted by the Rural Development Administration and plans to promote the project for two years from 2024 to 2025 with the goal of revitalizing local specialties in Chungju.

In particular, for the first year of the project, a total of 500 million won will be invested to promote local specialty liquor revitalization support projects at four locations, including support for the regional specialty liquor network consultative body, development of new products for regional specialty liquor, and creation of a promotional experience center.

Jungwondang (Jungangtap-myeon) and Dameul (Eomjeong-myeon), an agricultural corporation, were selected for the project to build local specialty liquor development and production facilities. They will install the facilities and equipment necessary to develop new products of specialty liquor using Chungju powdered rice, darae, etc., and launch new products at the end of this year. will be presented.

The center expects that the project will be of great help in promoting the consumption of local agricultural products as well as increasing the productivity and sales of alcoholic beverage manufacturers.

The pilot project to establish a promotion and marketing basis for local specialty liquor to build a sales channel for specialty liquor includes creating a Chungju culture and tourism brewery sales and experience center at Little Alsace (Suan-myeon), an agricultural corporation, and Golden Whale (Suan-myeon), an agricultural corporation.

The city plans to use traditional liquor experience tourists as representative local tourism content by linking it with Suanbo hot springs tourism.

In addition, next year, as a second-year project, a project cost of 700 million won (including 300 million won in national funds) will be invested to promote promotional marketing projects such as creating food outlets through market development to expand the distribution of convergence products developed this year.
