Chungju City is promoting a new project to overcome the low birth rate crisis. Chungju City announced on the 16th that it will implement three new low birth rate response projects to create a safe and happy pregnancy and childbirth environment and overcome the low birth rate crisis.

This new project consists of the following projects: △Marriage Cost Loan Interest Support Project, △Pregnancy and Childbirth Loan Interest Support Project, and △Super Large-Child Families (Five or More Children) Support Project, and a total of 606 million won, including provincial and municipal funds, will be invested.

The wedding cost loan interest support project supports wedding cost credit loans at an annual interest rate of 5% for up to 10 million won for 2 years, with a maximum of 1 million won for 2 years.

The pregnancy and childbirth family loan interest support project supports pregnant and childbirth families with a credit loan limit of 10 million won at an annual interest rate of 5% for 3 years, and provides up to a maximum of 1.5 million won for 3 years.

The ultra-large-family support project provides KRW 1 million per child per year (up to KRW 5 million per household) to households with five or more children according to the family relationship registration and at least one child under the age of 18 living in the district with the father or mother according to the resident registration.

In addition, the city is also implementing a multi-child family admission support grant project as its own project to support child-rearing expenses for families with multiple children, and applications are being accepted until the end of November.

Starting this year, the admission support grant program has expanded its support criteria from the third child or more to the second child or more, and 1,657 people have received admission support grants so far. The number of applicants is expected to increase by more than four times compared to the 535 applicants last year.

City officials said, “We hope that this new project will lead to marriage and childbirth, helping to overcome the low birth rate,” and added, “We will discover various unique projects to actively respond to population issues such as the low birth rate, and work harder to create an environment friendly to pregnancy and childbirth.”

Applications for the project to be implemented this time can be submitted at the administrative welfare center of your local township or district from the 13th of this month until the end of November.
