“The Austrians were able to make those arrests because the agency (CIA) and our partners in the intelligence community provided them with information about what this ISIS-connected group was planning to do,” the deputy director said.

It should be remembered that these presentations in Vienna were part of “The Eras Tour“which were scheduled for the days August 8th and 10thbut the Austrian authorities cancelled them after receiving the report of the terrorist threat.

At least 170 thousand people -mostly Americans- would attend the sold-out concerts.

Regarding the detainees, at the time of their arrest, bomb-making materials were found on them, in addition to having access to the concert.

The American singer said she felt “fear” and “guilt” after the cancellation of the three concerts in Austria.

“The cancellation of our concerts in Vienna was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new feeling of fear and tremendous guilt because many had planned to attend those concerts,” she said in a message on the social network Instagram.
