Academia Internacional de Cinema (AIC) is pleased to present its newest weekly program on YouTube, Cine Raio-X. With launch scheduled for July 31st at 11am, the program features film critics Filippo Pitanga and Delilah Camargo Martins in engaging discussions about current movies and the filmography of renowned directors.

In a chat format, the presenters offer a unique and in-depth approach to the world of contemporary cinema. With each episode, a special guest joins the conversation to bring different perspectives and further enrich the discussions.

“We will approach from the cults to the most recent releases, bringing more than special guests from the field, in addition to scrutinizing the career of some of the greatest directors of cinema from an unprecedented ranking of their filmographies under the baton of presenters”, explained Filippo Pitanga.

At the premiere, Cine Raio-X receives João Campos, professor in the Cinematographic Directing and Technical Acting courses for Cinema and TV at AIC and film critic to analyze the filmmaker’s filmography Sophia Coppola, exploring recurring themes in his works and the impact of his authorial vision. In the following episodes, the program turns to films in theaters, addressing the drama Closedirected by Lukas Dhontand “Noite Alienígena”, by the Brazilian Sergio de Carvalho.

Then the filmography of the renowned director Bong Joon Ho is explored, highlighting his outstanding works and unique elements of his style. Closing the month on a golden note, the program presents the Brazilian cult film City of Abysses, of Priscilla Bettim e Renato Coelho.

“At Cine Raio-X, our discussions about movies in theaters will seek to contextualize them in contemporary times, that is, not only in the scope of cinematographic aesthetics, but also socioculturally and politically”, said Dalila.

Subscribe to the channel and immerse yourself in a rich and stimulating cinematic experience, where each episode is a true lesson on the seventh art and a deep reflection on the films that have shaped our trajectory so far.
