After the big crisis created by the Kovid period, the Indian film world is slowly finding its rhythm. Bollywood has lost its old glory while South Indian films are creating big success stories. But success is happening in Hindi cinema too, though less in number. Even in this crisis of Bollywood, there is one actor who was lucky enough to be a part of three successful films. This is Anupam Kher. Anupam Kher played lead roles in the films The Kashmir Files, Oonchai and Pan Indian Kannada film Karthikeya 2. He says that a film doesn’t succeed nowadays just because you are a star. Anupam Kher’s response in an interview given to Asianet Newsable.

“This year proved that content is king. Star direction has always been there. But today it’s a bit difficult. If you come up with a film that doesn’t have good content, just because you’re a star, it doesn’t necessarily take the audience to the theatres.” Anupam Kher says about the difference created in the audience by the covid period – “The covid period and the lockdown have changed the audience. They have seen a lot of world cinema and local cinema. The audience has an allergy to fake things now. Today they don’t accept anything that makes them small, questions their common sense or sentimentality”, says Anupam Kher.
