Passports Now Require One-Year Wait for Replacement
The Passports, Nationality and Foreigners Affairs Authority in Libya has issued a circular stating that lost or damaged passports will no longer be issued until one year has passed from the date of loss or damage. This measure is being taken in accordance with instructions from the Minister of Interior.
The Authority advised citizens to take extra care of their passports, as there has been a significant increase in reports of lost and damaged documents. In urgent and humanitarian cases, exceptions can be requested and referred to the Authority’s management for consideration.
The Authority also shared a Facebook post highlighting their commitment to addressing concerns related to lost or damaged passports.
