The Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City, shared that in their facilities they will be offering glasses certified by the UNAM to observe the eclipse solar next Monday, April 8; However, the number of people who came to obtain them surpassed the number of glasses available.
Lenses began to be offered in the past April 2but the high demand from citizens who went to the SSC facilities caused the units available for this March 4 to be completely sold out, generating discontent of the people who claim to have trained hours with the aim of achieving them.
However, the notable shortage of glasses and the little attention on the part of the Secretariat of Citizen Security towards the trained people unleashed their discontent, beginning to make complaints and demanding a clear response from the institution.
“If there is no longer one, let them put up a little sign, because It’s a lack of attention. I know that the Secretariat is not dedicated to this, but they should not spread it so much if they do not have the logistics and supplies to do so.” mentions Javier Medinawho claimed to have trained for more than two hours.
On the other hand, people like Javier soto ask the Secretariat to be clearer with diffusion of your information and thus avoid having more than 200 people waiting for long hours.
“They have us here trained and they don’t tell us how many lenses they are going to bring… Let them say, there are no more lenses and nothing happens, I have been trained for more than 2 hours and they don’t want to say it.”
The glasses offered by the SSC are made by inmates of the East Prison and signed with the name ‘Make me worth it’. Likewise, it is important to mention that a maximum of 5 lenses can be obtained per person, each with a cost of 88 pesos.
These will be delivered to the Secretariat of Citizen Security (Liverpool 136, Col. Juárez) from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. until April 5.
