The City Football Group promises to reach the (football) ends of the Earth. The society of football clubs that has Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as the main exponent of its portfolio has announced a “football-focused” partnership with Turkish side İstanbul Başakşehir, through which the CFG will provide consultancy on “strategy, selection of players, transfers and training processes.”
In addition to the advice focused on recruitment, academy development and the use of data that the City Football Group will provide, the company will use the partnership with İstanbul Başakşehir to “increase its knowledge and develop relationships in Turkey, an ambitious football nation and talent developer.”
İstanbul Başakşehir, currently ninth in the Turkish Super League, and City Football Group will mutually benefit from this new partnership. This portfolio is currently made up of 12 clubs: Manchester City (England), Girona (Spain), Troyes (France), Palermo (Italy), Lommel SK (Belgium), EC Bahia (Brazil), New York City FC (United States) , Melbourne City FC (Australia), Yokohama Marinos (Japan), Montevideo City Torque (Uruguay), Sichuan FC (China) and Mumbai City FC (India).
