Ciudadanos has announced that it is considering taking legal action against Julio Comendador — until now a provincial deputy in the Toledo County Council for this party and a councilor in the capital — for what “represents an illicit use of public funds.” “We regret that the Lord Commander has used the resources of the Ciudadanos group in the Toledo Provincial Council for a long time with the planned objective of promoting his personal candidacy.”
The formation announced it in a statement released the same day that Comendador has presented his new political project, in the form of a group of voters, which under the name ‘Primero Toledo’ will have a candidacy for the next municipal elections in the regional capital.
The orange formation reports that, “given Comendador’s repeated refusal to deny the persistent rumors about his intention to launch an electoral platform, Ciudadanos began the procedures last week to expel him from the party.”
“It is evident that the operation of Mr. Comendador comes from afar, which constitutes a clear example of turncoats before which we must be forceful,” they warn from Ciudadanos.
Ciudadanos reaffirms “in its relentless fight against all forms of corruption, including turncoats, one of its worst expressions because it perverts the representativeness of institutions.”
In the same way, this party reiterates that it will continue to work, hand in hand with neighbors and groups, and with honesty and transparency as flags, “so that the people of Toledo can count on a centrist, liberal, clean and reformist option at the polls, with a leader who, despite all the difficulties, continues and will continue to serve the people of Toledo: Esteban Paños”. He will be the one who leads the Ciudadanos candidacy for Mayor of Toledo, thus repeating the proposal from four years ago.
