Civil Aviation: ICAO to audit Libreville and Port-Gentil airports

DIG/ The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will launch an audit in 2025 focused on the evaluation of the Gabonese civil aviation security system.

According to the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), this evaluation audit will be carried out at the level of the two airports with the highest operating levels (Libreville and Port-Gentil).

It will be structured around eight (8) crucial elements, namely:

– Legislation (Civil Aviation Code);

– Safety program and regulatory texts;

– Responsibilities of the competent national authority in supervision and coordination;

– Training policy, programme and plan (personnel certification qualification);

– Provision of technical information (procedure manuals, guides and specific materials);

– Obligations regarding the issuance of certification and approval;

– Quality control obligation;

– Resolution of safety issues.

“During this audit, Gabon aims for an implementation rate of 85%, compared to the rate set by AFI SECFAL which is 75%.

To do this, a technical unit for optimal coordination will be set up, bringing together the different focal points, each according to the aspects that fall under their responsibility, whose missions relate to the objectives of Annexes 9 and 17 of ICAO., indicates the Anac.
